Kinsale 2

Today we walked 30 minutes along the water from Kinsale to Charles Fort. It was built in the 17th century to protect this portion of southwestern Ireland. The fort is in ruins now and we were able to walk throughout the old interior. On the way back we stopped at the Bulman pub across the harbor from Kinsale and the Spaniard pub, which rests on a hill looking down at the waterfront town.

After a fresh seafood dinner, we took the Kinsale ghost your that led us to some of the historic sites in the town. The tour ended with the legend of the White Lady, who fell hundreds of feet to her death at Charles Fort on the night of her wedding over 400 years ago. She now haunts the town and there is a hotel named after the White Lady.
